Lend Me Your Ear!

I call the main earring section of my Etsy shop "For Your Ears Only", with a secondary section devoted to pearls. I've been busy in the ear-mode, with a sampling above. Mostly semi-precious goodies including turquoise, peridot, amethyst, tourmaline, blue goldstone, garnets and of course, pearls, get a hearing at WillOaks Studio.

I know earrings aren't for everyone, but here's my deal--I got my own ears pierced when I was twelve years old. You see, my mom, my sister and I were guinea pigs for a new "ear piercing tool" before it could be put into "general use." I remember so well the hype about how painless it was supposed to be--a little gun that shot a sharpened post right through your earlobe, quick and easy, just like that.

Well, I have ALWAYS had a needle-phobia and no way I believed the painless part...so, being a smart little kid, I walked around with a couple of ice cubes on each earlobe--front and back--to sort of numb things BEFORE I subjected MY ears to this little experiment. Whew, it wasn't too bad after all, and I've been wearing all kinds of earrings ever since.

And then, making my own earrings started pretty early as I figured out how to take apart ones that I had and to reassemble them to become something new and different. And how far I've come, because now, the possibilities are endless! Ladies, lend me your ear.....

I got mine done on my 8th birthday. I really wanted to have my ears pierced, so my mother took me to the only salon that did it. It wasn't so bad on the left ear, but pretty bad on the right when I knew what was coming ;-)
I wear earrings every day.

I never did get my pierced. I just never got around to it. But this is a wonderful post to get people interested in your earings. And they are great looking earings.

I can barely remember when got my ears pierced. I have three in each ear, a nose and a belly piercing but never wear jewelry. I must get back into it - I love your jewelry though!

I just don't feel dressed unless I am wearing earrings. They go on before anything else and I just hope the doorbell doesn't ring! I loved the pearl earrings I bought from you. They are worn frequently.

I was six years old when I got my ears pierced. The worst part for me was waiting 6 weeks until I could change my earrings!! I wanted cute earrings IMMEDIATELY!

You create beautiful jewelry. I've enjoyed strolling around your blog and peeking at the goodies.
