Wordless Wednesday (Sepia Italy II)

The town is Sienna. The head portraits up under the stone eaves are the town's founding fathers or famous notables. And the portrait in the top photo is reputed to be of Dante.

Whenever I get around to going to Italy, I plan on visiting Sienna. I have heard it should not be missed.

Hubby has been to Italy when he was in the service. He swears he's going to take me someday. I'm going to hold him to that promise too.

Have a terrific day. :)

Sienna looks fantastic and a place I hope to visit before I call it a day. The detail in the busts are so intricate, truly a art that has lost it's teachers.

Those are incredible photos! Wow. I have to admit, those heads are a bit creepy though. Too realistic!

These are gorgeous photos! I wish I could visit and see things like this in person.

I hope you are ok and that all is well. You're in my thoughts. xx

I love artwork like this. I like the way one of the heads in the second photo is tilted as if he is looking off to his right.
