Holiday Decorating - Lots of Plants!

WillOaks Farm -- As a Christmas Card!

I already mentioned that I'm not decorating this year, in the sense of dragging out the boxes of "stuff" and the artificial tree...BUT that doesn't mean there's not a sense of the holiday season around here from a floral perspective. You see, I'm part of a "blog hop" today and the theme is "holiday decorating." A perfect excuse to dig up some of the photos of holiday plants in bloom around this time of year. For me, blooming plants and cut flowers are the ultimate in decorating--that's my story and I'm sticking to it!

And some of these are actually blooming here right now: the pink poinsettias in my golden sleigh plant pot holder, the "Christmas Cactus," and the geraniums. The amaryllis are not blooming quite yet. In fact, many of my older bulbs have reverted to blooming in the Spring instead of winter as they are no longer tricked by their birth and early life in the southern hemisphere. But when I first got them, they bloomed for Christmas. If I had bought some new ones, these would possibly be blooming now, or very soon. And some years, I give away potted amaryllis bulbs to my "non-green thumb" friends as presents.

OK, the NEXT stop on your tour of Holiday Decorating tour today is Margs Pets! Just hop along and get into the spirit of the season...visually!!

I especially love that first one! To look at--not to actually experience, of course.

Love the Christmas Cactus. I have two. One in bloom now and one just starting to bud. Great photo of flowers.I wasn't going to decorate either but the Blog hop gave me a reason/push.

What a good idea to put the Christmas cactus in a hanging basket. I have two of them and they are blooming like crazy. But your pictures are just gorgeous. It is hard for me to have plants in the house because the cats dig them all up.

What FishHawk said. I'm not a snow person, but snow is beautiful.

I love all the flowers. Somehow they make me feel warm.

Have a terrific day and a very Merry Christmas. :)

Lovely shots that definitely reflect holiday decorating in your own unique way. I'm glad I got to link to you in the hop, since you are someone that I actually read on a regular basis.

I used to have a Christmas cactus. Yours are beautiful. I think it is time for me to get another one.

A girl after my own heart! I love all your flowering plants and they do lend a holiday feel to the home when they are blooming. My Christmas cactus just finished, but it was beautiful for Thanksgiving.

That first photo, as well as a few of the others, could certainly be a Christmas card! Beautiful!
I am finding a theme as a blog hop, most of us seem to be doing a little less decorating this year than we have in the past. Still, I think we shall all have a very Merry Christmas!

What a great Christmas card photo. You surely do have a green thumb. I'm horrible with plants.

I'm not good with plants either, so your flowers are a great candy treats to the eyes
