9-11 Memory

We fly a nice big American flag over the WillOaks Campground though the breeze failed me for this image. In memory of all the service men and women, law enforcement officers, firemen, medical and emergency personnel, and all the others who have served our country, I'm stopping for awhile on this difficult anniversary to be grateful for all the selfless servants we have in our country that have worked to serve, defend and improve the United States of America.

Friends of mine survived the assault on Manhattan on that bright September day eight years ago; relatives and friends of friends did not. I didn't agree with many of the decisions made on behalf of our country in the long aftermath to this horrific tragedy. But I honor all the the brave and patriotic men and women who served and continue to serve on all of our front lines, both military and domestic, for these are the people who make this country the great and wonderful place it is.

What??! Nice spam above.

Yeah, it's hard to believe it has been 8 years since that horrific day. I put my flag out this morning in honor of all those who gave their life that day--and after.

I am born and raised in Manhattan...at the time we had JUST moved to Providence, however, my Mom was there that day in Greenwich Village. We made the trip back in to 'see' what we could. We lived in Battery Park City for a couple of years, so we knew the area well...even 6 weeks later, we could still feel the grit...I am so deeply sorry for your your friends who did not survive...I still weep this day, every year...yes, we remember...

It feels like yesterday that this happened and it's still so sad.

Hmn...sad that someone would post something worthy of removal here:( Great honor post. Also, I have to apologize! I know I made a big mistake by doing your whole feature using "Willow Oaks" instead of Will Oaks. I think I misread the etsy shop banner as I'm easily tricked by words like that haha! It's now fixed...so sorry!!!
