Late Summer

Just a couple of days ago, I finally took my camera for a walk. This has really bothered me...but I couldn't seem to fix it: I have taken very few photos of nature or the seasons since Dad passed. I've been stuck. I have no idea why, but when I would think about doing it, I'd just give up and postpone even thinking about it.

Distressing because it seems I've had a camera in my hands since I got my first Brownie camera as a kid, so what happened? Kind of frustrating because I missed a few seasons here----but maybe I'm just coming out of it?? Above, I captured sunset over the campground.

And today, we found cicadas emerging from their husks on some of our trees here. Pretty intense little images....

Photography, like any art, needs to be processed internally before there is a result. I think you need to rest that weary head and emotions right now. It will come back, when you are ready. And it may be more beautiful than it was before. :)

glad you posted those for us - and I hope you can find comfort during your mourning for your father.
