New Work and First Frost

So stealthy. The first frost settled in here last night and anything tender will soon turn to mush as the freeze was quite hard. Hardy plants will survive, at least a little longer, but no illusions of summer remain.

I've been making long, long necklaces. Wonderful collections of natural, earthy stones strung on fine knotted leather that close with toggles. Long strands that can be worn long, doubled, tripled; that can be used as a kind of cluster or spaced out in staggered lengths. Perfect to layer over a turtleneck sweater. Coordinated colors with unexpected surprises here and there. Agates, jasper, quartz, garnets, obsidian, marble, tourmaline, and little bits of Czech glass. The patterns of the earth, the colors of the season, the textures of nature.

The necklaces are just fabulous! I can totally see wearing them over a turtleneck.

The pics of the frost are just unreal. Is that where you live? It is just breathtaking.

Stay warm!

Renee :)

The necklaces are great!

I was wondering the same as CraftAddict: Is that where you live? It's beautiful. It reminds me of the illustrations in story books.

Thanks for your remarks! About the "views" I included to show the first frost, yes, these are some views of WillOaks Farm, specifically, the road back into the WillOaks Campground! Thanks for asking!

What a perfect blend of autumn colors and gorgeous jewelry. I especially love the first necklace. But the photo of the country road is also breath-taking. Your life is truly one lived in beauty.

Love the colors you used on both necklaces. I love the idea of necklaces that can be worn in many ways.

Those pictures of the road and all the frost are just gorgeous. I hate to see that kind of weather coming but I must admit it is pretty.

I love that road. It is almost like what movies are made of. It prompts themes of romance, dreams, and eternity all in one.

It is so inspiring !
