Dualities - Part One (Pink)

Life here at WillOaks seems to offer a robust range of experiences. These can really be quite a study in contrasts as the past couple of days have illustrated for me. On one hand, I've been noticing an amazing range of pink flowers here as we approach autumn. So soft, feminine and even romantic, the rosy tones are found in newly blooming mums, fading hydrangeas, fresh new mallows, and the rich coloring and textures of the Autumn Joy sedums.

But the reason I present this as a duality (part one) today is to marvel at the contrast of these blossoms with what I've actually been working on these past couple of days....I laid a new floor! It was really challenging to do, since it was the first time I've attempted such a project. It was hard work, it was very physical, and frankly, it felt like a sort of masculine kind of project.

So I'll present you with my flowers here today, and in a day or two, after I finish putting in the trim and the thresh holds on my new floor, I'll post those images. It's been quite an adventure in learning...

Gorgeous flowers and congrats on the floor! I have only done vinyl tile in my kitchen but it was still very rewarding to not have to pay someone else for something I wanted:)

Such pretty flowers. I like the daisies. Looking forward to hearing about your flooring project and I'm sure it was at least as difficult as you expected.

The last flower on your list looks like an hibiscus. It is the same colour as my hibiscus but this year, the first time ever it was full of double flowers. These arrived the same time as some bad weather and I kept thinking to myself - I'll wait until tomorrow to take a photograph of these lovely blooms. Well you can guess, when the weather changed the blooms had all died off. This has now taught me a lesson ... next time even if I have to stand in galoshes I will strive to get the photograph.

As always your pictures are beautiful and have once again stopped me in my tracks.
