Entrecard Goes Haywire - Take a Deep Breath - Buddha Across the Seasons

I love to blog and I really enjoy visiting and dropping on other blogs with Entrecard. I think it's fun to visit the familiar friends and to check out new ones, and I dedicate time nearly every day for this activity. But the past few days were a serious trial. Weekends at WillOaks are crazy busy and I'm handicapped, computerwise, right now because my laptop had to go back to the factory. I'm unable to be online while working and staying back at the campground and it can be challenging to get away and go back to the house to use the desktop computer.

Couple this scheduling reality with the malfunctions on Entrecard on Sunday and Monday, and in a sense, I really wasted a good chunk of time. You see, the "system" decided to lose or discard about 450 of my blog visits and drops, which were, I confess, furtively squeezed in between other commitments or worse, in the wee hours of the morning. Fellow Entrecard droppers know how much time that many drops requires and it seems that concurrently, any credits one may have earned by being dropped ON were also vanquished. Not a good weekend for EC land!

It reminded me of how much I've come to take technology for granted...much to my chagrin. It reminded me that being angry about it was useless and actually, kind of unhealthy. So, OK, close the eyes, take a nice, deep breath...contemplate beautiful things and beautiful thoughts. To honor a better frame of mind, despite frustration when technology goes awry, I decided to dig through my photos here and put together a simple collection of my Buddha sculpture, in the garden across the seasons. Don't forget to breath....

I go back and forth with dropping entrecard, I feel it is a huge time waster for me. Now they only want to give you credit for dropping not for being dropped on!

I know what you mean, Jennifer. I didn't have many readers when I started here...but there are days when it seems kinda's crazy! And yes, the breaking news last night as I posted was how 9-1 no more credit for getting drops will be given...hmmm

Welcome in the club!

I lost over 530 ECs and yes... it will be much more worse from next month on... ok i will say from Ocotober on when the person spend all their saved up ECs for the high priced ad space... These advertising prices will drop and the price range from 16 to 64 will move up because this is what most of the EC droppers can afford to pay in the future months!

So just join our contest next week and win several thousand ECs and 5$ each week until 31st of December!!

Cornymans Money-Blog - Join the Biggest EC-Contest!

I am still new to EC.
I love dropping EC but I can only do my best. Sometimes, not enough time to drop to all the Ec friends that I know, I feel guilty.
With the EC system change, I do understand the outcome. Not that positive for us but I will try my best to fit in. Trusting all are in good order!
Take care friends:)

Lovely Buddha photos and quite appropriate. Despite the fact that most of didn't grow up with all this great technology, it is now ingrained in society and us.

As for EC, I haven't had the issues others had over the weekend but it is frustrating how even the new owners seem to change things on a whim. No matter what I have certain blogs that I will always stop by (yours is one) whether I'm on EC or not.

I love the Buddha pics through the seasons. The pink tulips are beautiful, also the booming Hosta growth is neat to see before and after. I have never been much of a dropper, but when I find a blog I like I put it right into my Google Reader. That's been so great for me, a wonderful way to stay up to date on my favorite high-quality blogs, like yours! EC has given me an excuse to stumble onto some really great blogs and for that I am grateful. But really it's my Google Reader that keeps me out there commenting. I hope that the new management at EC does not screw things up too badly. Wish you could get that time spent dropping back... grrr. We'll see what happens, in the meantime creating a great blog is the best revenge! ;~} Bonnie

love the peacefulness of your buddha photos.

i agree with threasa in that there are many blogs that i have on my blogroll that i will continue to visit with or without entrecard. to me, the credits aren't that important. i just love the fact that there is a place like that where you can find great blogs to read.

have a great day my friend!

And breathe deep, I always say. I like your budha--I need one of those for my garden too!

I've been dropping on 300 blogs a day for a little over a week now and to tell the truth I don't really do it for the points. I don't know if I lost credits or not because I never pay that close attention. It's become more a matter of habit with some blogs and some I do because I enjoy them so much others are because I also do a daily check of the newest blogs. Love the budah pics.

First, I love your Buddha photos, especially Winter Buddha. As for EC, I have met some amazing people through drops so I will continue to do so at least for a while. They're changing the drops system tells me that there will be more changes to come and probably not positive ones. So, for me, it's a wait and see.

I have such mixed feelings about EC. This weekends fiasco about did me in then because I stayed up late to drop my 300 only to find the slate wiped clean the next morning and I had to do it all again. Frustrating but I've met so many great blogs with it so I stick with it - for now at least!

I was mildly frustrated those days too, but for me, the page just wouldn't load. Inconvenience. I can't imagine having spent ALL that time earning that many credits only for them to be lost. DEVASTATING!!! But you are right, in the grand scheme of the world, no biggie. BUT, but...still.

I am also feeling frustrated. As you said to Theresa, no matter what happens with EC, I have found great sites like this which I would continue to follow. I have made some great friends through EC and they are worth keeping. I just wonder if the EC folks realize the amount of time and effort we put into this, only for some to lose credits. I think I'll look at the Buddha again. :)

I've about had it with Entrecard. I have met some wonderful people through blogging and will continue to visit their sites but I'm exhausted trying to get my 300 drops in every day. I need to get off the computer and into the studio instead! Fortunately this weekend I was too busy to do my drops anyway. Now I don't feel so bad. Love your Buddha photos!

I only lost about 300ec, but a proper apology on the blog or dashboard would be nice.

Instead we got a comment hidden away in a forum thread most members won't find.

This has just been a wonderful collection of replies! Today (!) I'm sticking with EC, curious to see what happens with changes. Just in case I change my mind, I'm doing two things: marking ALL my favorite blogs with Google Friends to keep following so I don't lose addresses AND, a big step for me, signing up for and beginning to explore new blog hubs, directories, etc. just to spread my wings a bit. I cherish all my new blogger friends here, in spite of some of the EC hassles! And thanks so much for dropping by!

I love the three season shots of the Budha. Just so peaceful.

I got virus every time I try to drop on new sites..So I wasted lots of time cleaning out my computer..
