Some Plants for the "Good Bugs"
I confess I can really get all caught up with the big spectacular flowers, the outrageous blossoms, only to overlook the more subtle blooms that are probably the real "work horses" of the farm and garden.
This collection of flowers are among those that provide some of the real nectar for the bees, food for the hummingbirds, host plants for the caterpillars, and a refuge for many of the "good bugs" that are part of a healthy ecosystem. Often subtle but quite beautiful with close inspection.
In order from the top: Dill, Eryngium, Phlox, Salvia.

Hi!
I love your photos. They show how beautiful and delecate the flowers are.
Thanks a lot for sharing them.
Wow. Great shots. I especially love that first shot. So fine and delicate.
beauteous beauteous beauteous...I'm hooked on the delicate flowers as well, but sometimes they just don't cooperate w/ the camera if there is even the slightest breeze...these are just great!!
What are the white flowers? Those are so amazing. I'm a bit green when it comes to plants and flowers.
Thanks for checking in to all!! And I'm so happy to hear you enjoy these more subtle images after the big bold blossom fest I've had going here! The white flowers are a cultivated perennial phlox--it's name is "David" and it has a subtle, but very sweet fragrance. Karen
Beautiful.... Here in the Carolinas the flowers are also blooming. But when I return to Florida I won't be seeing all that color. The heat and the summer rains don't allow for many of these beautiful flowering plants to exist.
Beautiful!!!
i love the delicacy of the dill. looks like a little fairy parachute.
They are are so beautiful in their own way and good for bugs too. I especially love the Salvia.
You take beautiful pictures.
I am always amazed at how you capture these closeups so well. They are just gorgeous.
I think these make for some of the loveliest and most unusual looking flowers:)
Lovely! Your photos are always so beautiful!
