With the fireworks still fresh in my mind I came back to edit recent photos from the gardens and fields...is it just me, or do these forms look like some of the typical "explosions" seen on July 4th? I have often thought that some of the bursts reminded me of very ephemeral flowers. Now I think I see fireworks in the blossoms. Or do I just have some kind of floral affliction going on in my head these days? I guess there could be worse mental maladies....
Wow, you're totally right. It's how the pedals recede into the distance at the tips, giving that explosion look. Now I'm going to look at flowers in a new light, I'm sure:) Love that first purple one. So unusual.
Great comments and I'm glad it's "not just me" who's seeing fireworks! Sharkbytes--the top one is "eryngium" and not sure if it has a "common name"--easy to grow, short lived perennial, often self-seeds!! And dries beautifully!

I can see the "fireworks" in every picture.
I like that idea of floral fireworks. I LOVE the daisies.
