Mid-May Gardens at WillOaks Farm

A beautiful wet day here on the farm and in the gardens. Severe weather hasn't materialized, just gentle intermittant showers. Plants are in all stages from just emerging to budded out, to fully in bloom, to forming seed. A slide show of today's images is on the widget near the bottom of this page or can be viewed in a larger size by clicking here.
I began planting most of these beauties about 5 years ago when I returned to the farm. It's rewarding to see many of them mature and fill in and to see some of the color and textural combinations I hoped might work come to fruition. Since Heuchera and Colombine are very near blooming, there's a good chance Hummingbirds will return very soon.
