A Monday Kind of Tuesday

Some weeks, my Mondays are just scattered and sometimes frantic. I come away from my weekend of campground/people work (and it was the 4th of July, after all!) and try to catch up on "the rest of my life." Well, Monday bled into Tuesday and it was sort of good day-bad day mix. Some of the bad included completely misplacing a whole, fresh pot of coffee (minus one poured mug) and seriously, being completely unable to FIND it until 10 p.m. this evening. Unbelievable. Consequently, I was even flakier than usual. So then, my phone's battery went dead and I couldn't find my charger. Thankfully, I didn't lose my glasses or my head-it just seemed like I did.

Some of the good included FINALLY getting a crummy WiFi connection FIXED here. This has been a frustrating, ongoing saga, that I'm tired of thinking or talking about....BUT, now that the ROUTER is a good one...zoom!! I can really, you know, like load web pages and drop Entrecards and all those good things that I thought I should be able to do all these months of struggling with a poor connection to the internet.

And although it's happening at a slower pace than I'd like, I'm putting together some new work which I'm sampling here. More braided linen, which I just love, that incorporates different bits for different effects. So far, I listed a few of these as "custom orders" in my Artfire studio because in order to wear as a wrapped cuff, it seems the length must be "just right." But since they tend to come out between 18" and 26" long, they can work as a necklace, too. I'm open to feedback since this is, afterall, a kind of "sneak preview!" Hmmm, I wonder what I've left out?

A Treasury!

I learned how to make a copy of my computer screen just now!! I've always wondered how people did this cool technique...and I was under PRESSURE. Because in less than 2 days, this lovely "Fall Preview Sampler" that includes a pair of my copper and pearl earrings, by curator handmadeshow will expire. So do take a peek on your own full screen...and leave a comment if you're inspired by it!!

Funny thing is, despite the extravagance of summer here with flowers and foliage and fauna...I do love the cooler days of autumn and the fabulous colors of that season. And I've begun to think about new pieces to create for after the summer begins to fade away.

Parallel Universe--Floral Fireworks

With the fireworks still fresh in my mind I came back to edit recent photos from the gardens and fields...is it just me, or do these forms look like some of the typical "explosions" seen on July 4th? I have often thought that some of the bursts reminded me of very ephemeral flowers. Now I think I see fireworks in the blossoms. Or do I just have some kind of floral affliction going on in my head these days? I guess there could be worse mental maladies....

Some Like It Cold (well, cool anyway...)

...picking up on the nursery rhyme begun a couple days ago. And referring to this family of colors now in the garden. Some are wild, some are domesticated. Annuals, perennials and shrubs all now in bloom. And some wonderful names, too. Asclepias, Daphne, Lambs ears, Transcendentia, Artemesia, Eryngium, and Hosta.
And finally:

Dog Day Week

Dakota gets her summer buzz cut after a morning at the "doggie spa." She feels much cooler now and is so relaxed about everything, she gave a few nice big yawns. Hmmmmm, the vet says she could use some dental work next. Guess I can see that too when she opens wide!

The sweet lady holding her is her new groomer...whose name I didn't catch--but I will next visit! They really like each other, which is good as Dakota can be a bit grouchy.

Some Like It Hot....

More images of the glorious summer flowers here in the gardens and fields at WillOaks Farm. There's not too much to add in words here when the visuals, the colors, are so brilliant and intense. Look closely and you'll see that insect life also abounds.
